Sonya Leigh is 2 months old.

Our beautiful Blessing is now two months and too big. With this baby more than the others I'm realizing how fast it really goes.

Taylor's smile

Taylor's smile is short a few teeth these days. 3, to be exact. Here she is!

Joel with the birthday hat.

Yah, I know it's blurry. I'm a mom. I was probably feeding the baby at the same time. :)

It Is More Blessed To Receive Than To Give

Our pastor has said this a few times and it really made sense when my husbands birthday came around this month.  Joel said he didn't want anything for his birthday (sound familiar any wives out there?). He usually buys himself what he wants anyway so I couldn't think of anything he really had to have. So I tried to buy a few things (t-shirts, trail mix, and special candy that the kids picked out) with food money.  And I made his favorite for dinner- a gourmet Three Mushroom Rigatoni by Racheal Ray. My children were so excited about Dad's birthday and decided we needed balloons, streamers, party hats, sparkling cider for toasting -the whole works:) On the day we decided for the party my husband remained indifferent about the party. Mostly because he didn't want me to feel too much pressure. I told him when you get to a certain age your birthday is more for your children than you. You know, an excuse to have a party. Jack was adamant we needed Dad's old football cake guys for Kerry Hedrick's chocolate cake (which was delicious of course). We went to get them and chatted with grandma for a little while.  Then later dad got a call from his dad. (wow!) And something clicked and what a nice day it ended up being. We had our candlelight dinner, dad wore the party hat Taylor picked out and the children did some lovely toasts (which I had them repeat for me on the video below). I'm thankful my kids have a dad who still has a dad. Hope this makes sense. We receive so that we have something to give.

Another one of the pink and brown hat.

See below too.

Sonya's Hat

My friend Molly and I have been displaying hats on our newest baby girls. This one's my favorite. Obviously, because it's pink and brown. My favorite color combo for girls. And check out those eyes!
